It'll All Be Better Tomorrow

Skies gray like the walls of a bus station restroom and I ache and I hear that black dog panting on the porch, he lifts a paw and scratches at the door, he growls and moans and I hide behind the curtain and peer out, his eyes are yellow like distant fire.

He knows I'm watching him. He does not care.

Some days are like this.

Just a great, long jump into the river of hopelessness. One hopes the moon rises soon to at least provide a path for such a meaningless swim into the darkness.

  1. I wish that I could take some of this from you today -- close your eyes and send it away, a part of it, across the country and let it rest here in my backyard, under the tangerine tree who will cover it with blossoms and you'll only smell the sweet.

  2. Wow, your words are so, so beautiful - even if sad. I hope you can think of those incredible grandchildren as your beacon of light today. Sweet Jo

Tomorrow Will Be Kinder. Do you know that song by the Secret Sisters?

I am wishing you peace and self-love, Ms. Moon. Please talk to yourself the way you talk to all of us. With compassion.
