And some days I bring home a reptile foot from my walk.
Okay. This is the first time, to be truthful.
I think it is a turtle foot. A rather large turtle foot. Here. I'll do another picture.
So many mysteries in Lloyd. This one goes right up there with how the deer leg got into the little park by the post office last year.
If any of you think it's not a turtle foot and can ID it more professionally, please do.
Thanks.
I have no idea, but it looks really neat. Like something Sam would like to hang on a keychain just to be all cool and pre-historic.
ReplyDelete"Hold it up in your right hand, and wish aloud," said the seargent-major, "But I warn you of the consequences."
ReplyDeleteI wish for...to be hot like Cher at 62. WAIT, WAIT, I TAKE IT BACK, oh curses, the fate I've brought upon meeeeeeeee
"myself" I meant, it's reflexive, I just got lost in the horror.
ReplyDeleteI think you have a serial animal killer loose in Lloyd with a thing for feet.
ReplyDelete(I read too many strange books)
Kori- It kinda stinks.
ReplyDeleteMagnum- Either way works. I get the idea. Nah, I don't think this is a wishing foot. I think it's a sad foot.
Zelzee- You may be right.
That's gross and kinda awesome at the same time. Maybe something ate the rest of it and was too full for one last bite of paw? I'm surprised that the ants didn't get to it before you found it.
ReplyDeleteRemember when I found the hoof on Monroe St?
ReplyDeleteI think you are right about it being a turtle foot. At first I was thinking wow, there is no webbing and the nails are really large but those scales look like a turtle. Honestly, I know I am new to your blog and all but when I clicked on the link I never thought I might see a turtle foot!
ReplyDeleteMaybe you have chupacabras there.
ReplyDeleteI made myself laugh.
Baby Alligator?
ReplyDeleteCome on Mrs. Moon, I bet it was the Swamp Cabbage Man. An old FL urban legend something akin to Chupacabra. Ever heard of him?
ReplyDeleteWow. Looks like something out of a Fantasy film.
ReplyDeleteThe Paw of Gorg.
Creepy!
Once the husband was walking the dogs in the college, and he was standing around by the hedge and looked down to see a severed fox head snarling up at him. Gave him quite a shock.
Creep-tastic! It looks like a dinosaur foot or something.
ReplyDeleteWell, like someone else said, it could be left over from an animal kill, or he may have gotten it caught in something... OR maybe someone is making turtle stew... or practicing voodoo? OOOHHHHhhhh!
ReplyDeletePS I do think it is a turtle foot. Also, Harley and I picked up garbagio from our house to the post office! He loved doing it. I just have to remember to bring bags when we walk. There you go, starting more movements! ha!
ReplyDeletecya,
pf
Maybe it's from a tortoise - they're slightly different from turtles, I don't think they spend as much time in the H20, therefore, their toes aren't webbed.
ReplyDeleteMs. Lemon- There was one fly on it. That was it. But I have since checked and it has maggots. Just a few.
ReplyDeleteMiss Maybelle- I always forget that!!!
Sarah- You just never know. One day Cher, the next day a severed turtle foot.
Ms. Bastard- We do have black panthers. Not sure about the chupacapras. Or whatever.
AJ- That's what I thought but gator feet have webbing.
Ms. P- Never heard of swamp cabbage man. Maybe swamp cabbage man ate the turtle.
Jo- Yep! That would startle me too!
Ginger- Doesn't it?
Ms. Fleur- I doubt the voodoo thing but wouldn't doubt the turtle soup thing.
Hope- I think it might be a snapping turtle. They use those claws for digging. We have lots of turtles around here.
Poor thing... whatever it is... or was.
ReplyDeleteMaybe Cher left it...
ReplyDeletehahahahahaha
ReplyDeleteSteph- I agree. Poor thing. Mr. Moon says it looks like something gnawed it off. But WHAT?
ReplyDeleteMs. Jo- You are evil, woman. Evil, I say!
I want to know more about this hoof... A horse one? Pig or maybe cow? Do tell. ick!
ReplyDeleteI think it was a hoof from a goat. It was on the corner of 6th and Monroe. I looked around for the rest of the goat but I didn't see it.
ReplyDeleteDumbfounded!
ReplyDelete(btw the tree I meantioned, or rather the plant growing over the tree, Wysteria)
Get out, XBox! You have wisteria? Really? That's wonderful.
ReplyDeleteBut do you have...monster turtle feet?
I don't know about the Swamp Cabbage Man, that BEP speaks of, but maybe it was a skunk ape???
ReplyDeleteYou Llyodians better watch your backs! Lol.
