Monday. Or...Life Is Tough Sometimes

This is going to be quick (hurray! we all say!).

Lily is sick and tired of being pregnant.
May is getting sick.
Mr. Moon is wearying of the impossible difficulty of the car business and may have some new poison ivy breakouts. (I'm not sure how that could happened- all he did yesterday was CUT DOWN TREES AND CLEAR OUT BEHIND THE GARAGE!)

Me? I'm still lame but feeling fine. I'm going to town to get books on PlayAway for Mr. Moon's hopefully not futile trip to auction, get May some Ibuprofen, a thermometer and some Sprite and take Lily off on some adventure. I have no idea what that might be. I feel certain the library and the drug store will be involved.

I got three new eggs this morning. THREE!
And it's a lovely day.

Now- let's all get well, prosper, speak the truth, and oh, yes. I think we should all wear blue today.

For no reason.

Happy Fall Solstice! Although that may be tomorrow. I get so confused.

Which, as you know by now, is pretty much my permanent state of mind.

And one more thing- see that poor tiny lizard? The cobwebs have returned to my porch in such force that the poor little creature had to be freed from one on my back porch this morning. I believe he has hurt himself in the process. I have gently placed him outside on the jade plant, hoping he will be okay and grow up to be a big, bad lizard who can come back to the porch whenever he's ready and strong enough to fight his own way out of the spider webs.

  1. Poor May and Lily and Daddy. And bless you Mama for taking care of everyone!
You will be pleased to know that I am doing good and you don't have to worry about me at all today. (now I'm not saying that maybe tomorrow won't be different, but today I am doing good.)
I hope that your adventures with Lily are fun.

  5. I do hope everyone feels better. That's a lot of problems all at once.
And yes, the fall solstice is tomorrow at 5:18PM. Stephanie already pointed that out to me.

  6. That lizard is a cute little bugger.

I am sorry to hear about all the ailments.

    Love, SB.

  7. I hope everyone's ailments improve, and that Owen makes his appearance soon!
And I love those little green anoles. They are so funny to watch. Bless YOUR heart for rescuing him!

  8. I'm sure he needs no help from the blog peanut gallery. But my BIL up in north AL has done very well working for himself in car business/junk yards/real estate biz. And the used car portion is going gangbusters right now. He has figured out internet, finally, after not wanting to. Goes to car auctions in surrounding cities -- Nashville is one place but I know they are all around. Buys cars, puts them on lots. Then with internet I know he takes pics on his cell phone and emails them here and there and people will drive shocking miles to buy them. When I was home, somebody drove up from Mobile area to him nearly in TN to buy a truck! My son taught him that cell phone thing and BIL paid him $20.

The whole family works for him. His son, my sister, his son's friends who need jobs. And I really think that internet thing pushed it.

  9. I wore a blue T-shirt this morning, and it puzzled me because it's not the one I normally wear to the gym. Now I know it was you telling me to.

Take care of yourself, too, Ms. Moon!

  11. Maybe if Mr. Moon weren't so damn lazy, he would quit getting all this poison ivy; really. (and I hope the humor of that shines through, because you KNOW I sure don't think Mr. Moon is lazy). I hope Lily has a good day, even if she is tired of being pregnant and all; I don't blame her, though, becuase these last days are the worst, and I will send happy, happy thoughts her way.

And we didn't wear blue today but it was a really good morning anyway.

  12. Yay for Lizard saving!! I'm going to send you that email of the beautiful island man who saved a VERY large lizard and it became his pal... Now they are a tourist attraction in SA.

Sorry every one is sick.. Man we've had a Monday round here. Red's car is in the shop and I was supposed to pick him up before picking up Griff from school... only my car wouldn't leave Borders. ACK! Spit spit spit! (I love Bill the Cat!) Anyway, luckily, we have a very dear friend who still defends his title as the world's nicest guy in the featherweight division.... Mr. Moon would be the heavy weight title holder! Anyway, we lucked out, he was home and happy to come get us. Which was a blessing also because he has a minivan (we had Griff's tricycle) and a car seat!! AND he happened to need to stop by publix... and we did too! As much as I hated feeling like a burden, it was real good to see him, and we all had a real good time.

(I forgot to mention, the lawnmower lost a wheel today also!)

Ok, I hope every Moon/Thigpen is healed in the name of the batshit crazy and restored to their natural loveliness real soon.
    xoxo pf

  13. Thanks for getting me out of the house today mom! I am just going to say that I think Owen will be born very soon because of our adventures today. (Got to keep a positive attitude) If nothing else it was very relaxing. Love you.

  15. I didn't get the memo, so I didn't wear blue today. Unless you count my jeans.

Glad you and Lily had a little adventure today and I'm sure a little fun, as well.

  16. Lily,
We are all waiting on this baby. Would you just plunk Owen out already? We want to see him.

I'm growing very impatient. Patience is a virtue, it just ain't one of mine.

    Love, SB.

  17. Tell Lily that my good friend finally gave birth to an 8lb 3oz. baby boy, her third baby and third boy. She was one week overdue and successfully resisted her doctor's and many of her friend's advice to be induced!

All is well and it will be for Lily, too. I just know it. Oh, and tell her that my children all came two weeks late. And during the last week, I ate whatever the hell I wanted, including hot fudge sundaes everyday. I figured an extra couple of pounds at that point would make no difference.

  19. Happy Fall Solstice to you, Ms. Moon.

  20. Ms. HoneyLuna- Thanks for not making me worry about you today. Although I am sure that May would much not rather be getting sick. Poor, poor baby girl.
    Now you- stay healthy! Love...Mama

DTG- And you stay healthy, too! Love you, too....Mama

    Steph- Thank-you, sweetie pie.

Jon- Tell Stephanie thanks for the up-to-date information.

Ms. Bastard- I know. But he has a little hurtie on his arm. I hope he heals up. And that Miss May feels better soon. And that Mr. Moon doesn't go into full-blown poison ivy again. And that OWEN IS BORN VERY SOON!

Glimmer- Yeah, Mr. Moon is doing some internet stuff. He's been in the car biz in one way or another for many years. His problem now is that the very low-mileage, high-quality cars he sells are not being traded in but kept as people are being so much more careful with money. He has the customers but can't get the cars. If you can't get the cars, you can't make the sale. And he is picky, picky, picky.

Mwa- And that blue thing came totally OUT of the blue. Ha!
    Blue is a nice color.

    Kyle- Thank-you!

Kori- Yeah, what a lazy ass he is! Hahahahahaha!
I am SO thrilled about your morning. I surely am.

Ms. Fleur- Oh no! I'm so glad you have such a nice friend. You have nice friends because you are such a good friend yourself. And you know that.
You must have gotten the lawn mower fixed. I heard it going a while ago.
I called you and left a message.
    Talk to you soon, sweetie.
And turquoise is a shade of blue.

Lily- It was lovely. You know, I adore getting to spend all this time with you. It is very special to me. I love you so. Now go into labor!

    Ginger- Of course jeans count!
Damn. I wish I could wear mine.

Ms. Bastard- Ah well. Babies teach us many things, patience being one of them. But I hope Owen heeds your advice.

Elizabeth- I will tell Lily. And I think she got the memo about the last few weeks and eating. She told me that very thing today. Ha!

    SJ- How cool is that?

    Aunt Becky- Thank-you, dearheart.
