Let Us Praise

I just wrote a regular old "Ms. Moon is sad for no reason again" post and I can't stomach publishing it. So I deleted the whole thing.

You've all heard this story before and although some rituals and routines are good, such as clean sheets and martinis, others just get wearisome.

So let's think of this as a mere note to say, "Hello, hello, hearts and minds get funky sometimes even if everything is absolutely fine."

Because everything is absolutely fine.

And even far more than fine.

Mr. Moon is at the coast with his buddies in case the weather is suitable for fishing tomorrow, clean sheets are indeed on the bed, and I have made a quite adequate martini.

Jack is doing his job and the church next door is worshipping their god with drums and bass and their fine soprano. The rain we've had all day is a mere drizzle right now and I'm about to go cook some salmon which is what I want despite the fact that in the past week I've eaten cobia, snapper, and mullet. When I die of mercury poisoning, I am going to be so healthy due to all the seafood I've eaten.

Happy Friday, y'all.

Love...Ms. Moon

  9. Well, hopefully writing your original post at least had some therapeutic value! I do like Hank and Rachel's invitation, especially with the cats included. :)

    1. I don't think it did have much therapeutic value. Or any other kind.
The cats are their pet babies. One of them, the one with a wreath, passed through the veil awhile ago, and is now, I'm sure, enjoying endless amounts of catnip and sunny spots to sleep.

  10. You can store it alongside all my “Mitchell is sad for no reason again” non-posts. Beautiful and charming invitation.

    1. But the thing is, there is always a reason, isn't there?

    2. I don't think so. If there was a reason it would be easier to treat. I think depression just comes and goes with no reason at all.

  11. That's a sweet invitation for Hank and Rachel. That will be such a happy day.
When your sciatica hurts, it's hard to be chipper and happy. PT helped my hip/leg issues so you might try that. Hope you feel better soon, Mary.

  12. the three weeks I spent in Portugal, I had seafood every day except for one day I tried rabbit. I never got tired of it. we had beer battered cod from Costco last night and I brought home a bag of gulf shrimp from SHARE yesterday though I rarely help myself to something from there. Is that a hand drawn invitation to the wedding? not the actual invitation but the original or not hand drawn but created by them instead of ordered from a catalog. it's very sweet.

    1. Seafood is hard to beat. And it's so varied, really.
A friend of Hank and Rachel's did the invitation. Isn't it cool?

  15. 37paddington: I’m so happy for Rachel and Hank. It really is an extraordinary thing to choose a person to do life with. It’s not the right path for everyone but when it works, when it’s grounded in enduring friendship, it’s a beautiful thing.
