Haiku My Heart, Using Hands And Heart In Love

If hearts are to give
And hands are to hold our loves
I am truly blessed.

I've already run this picture but I love it too much for one single outing. I keep getting comments about how good a friend or a grandmother I am for doing the tiniest, simplest things for these two people but it is these two people who give my life its sweetest purpose these days. Who honor me by allowing me to use my hands and my heart so very purely in their behalf. I am not saying this out of some sort of false umbleness, as Uriah Heep would do. I am saying this with a fierce realization born of my years that there is nothing which makes me feel more alive and more at one with the universe than being able to do what I can for someone I truly love.
There is not one whiff of a sense of duty here. Not one. There is only pure joy and the very presence of Kathleen and Owen in my life have enriched that life more than they will ever know.
Thus, my haiku for this Friday.
I think that our rebecca, who hosts Haiku My Heart on Fridays will understand this perfectly.

  9. Yes, there is no obligation in friendship or love. Which is really the same thing.
