Hello I Must Be Going

This is going to be a very, very short post because that boy in the picture who was six years old when it was taken, is here tonight at the advanced age of 11 years old, to spend the night with Mer and Bop and I have not got my ducks in a row as to supper (spaghetti and meat balls) or the bed being made up for him. But I have a good excuse which is that I went to town today so that our beautiful Melissa could cut six inches of my hair off and then I had to go to the store and also, we have a small flea problem so I had to wash  ALL the bedding in the house including guilts and so forth and well, that's the story.

Got it?

I loved seeing Melissa. She cuts all our hair. She's given a lot of first haircuts to my grands and she does Lily's and Lauren's, Hank's and Rachel's, and oh, you know. She is not only beautiful, she is the sweetest, funniest woman and smart as anyone you'll ever meet and dear and can be as profane as I am and you can talk about anything with her. And today we discussed stuff that was get-down-to-it stuff, real, honest stuff and we laughed and we (I) cried and I was reminded how important it is for women to talk with women because there is nothing like it in the world for our souls and our hearts.

And then my hair was finished being cut and our dear friend Lindsey came in because she was the next appointment and there were more hugs and I-love-you's and honestly, I should get my hair cut more than once a year, not because I care how long it gets but because I'd get to see Melissa more often.

So that's the story and yes, the cats have now been treated for fleas and Maurice, under the influence of the flea pill, peed in a box holding half a barrel of raw peanuts costing forty dollars on the open market which really pissed off Mr. Moon and also, he has vacuumed the entire house, not trusting Ralph to get to all the possible flea eggs.

Phew!

One more picture of Melissa and a grandchild.

Melissa has not aged one single day since these pictures were taken and I am not sure how this is possible but it is a true fact. And by the way- the day these pictures were taken was on Gibson's sixth birthday. If you want to read that story, you can go HERE.

Gotta run!

Happy Friday, y'all.

Love...Ms. Moon

  3. I recognised Gibson and Maggie right away. Melissa does look sweet and kind. If I had six inches cut off my hair there wouldn't be much left! It only grows to a few inches past my shoulders and then stops so I just leave it at that length.
I agree women should speak to women more, but I just don't seem to be able to open up that way. Everything is bottled inside and will go to my grave with me.

    1. I am so sorry that you can't open up to other women. It is so good for the soul. But if you can't, you can't. I understand that.

  4. I think hairdressers probably take a course in how to be a social worker too don't they. Very therapeutic!

  5. uggggh on the fleas. we steam, spray white vinegar, steam again, spray odo-ban, and then sprinkle diatamaceous earth on stuff that can't be put in the dryer at high heat once it dries out from the steam/spray cycle. it has worked thus far but you all probably have republican type fleas..... xxalainaxx

    1. We have Florida fleas and they could be Republicans. Bloodsuckers, every one.

  6. Seresto collars. They are expensive, but dang. They do work. I have not had a flea problem EVER when using them and they are effective for 8 months.

    1. Well, this oral treatment seems to work pretty well. We just haven't stayed on top of it and the cats were way overdue.
