  4. When we were watching the parade on Saturday morning, there was one tiny "Support Our Troops" banner that went by with a person on each end.
"Bring 'em home!" I screamed. "Bring them home!"
I doubt that helped a damn thing.

  6. the wife of one of my best friends from childhood just got called to active duty. She is a mother of 4 young kids and she is a combat infantry mental health counselor. She will be gone for a year- just left a couple days ago. They are stiff upper lip people, but you know it sucks.

  7. I'm not sure it made me feel better but I felt like it was something I had to do. What if EVERYONE started screaming to bring them home?
    And not just at parades.
Yeah. That Alice's Restaurant thing worked real well too.

  9. Juancho, that sucks. What I want to know is why we still haven't passed the ERA but women now have to go to war? I don't care if a woman does sign up her own self, a woman with kids at home should not go to war. This is my own personal opinion on my own personal blog.
Of course, I don't think a man with kids at home should go to war either.
    Or, frankly, anyone.
I think we should be over war.
    But no, we're not.
    We really are not.
Keep us posted as to news about that mother.
