Long story short I broke four ribs. I knew it was more than one. Hell, I can feel them shifting.
But- nothing to be done unless one of several dire scenarios occur at which case I should go to the hospital.
Dr. Z was so kind. He kept saying, “I’m so sorry this happened to you!”
I’m pretty sure he meant it.
And that’s about all I have the energy to write tonight. I’m glad I went and got checked out because now I know why and where the pain is coming from for sure and now I will be even more careful to rest and heal. I keep thinking of things I should do. Could do. Really!
And then I’m just letting them go.
Mr. Moon will take care of me and the doctor prescribed me some pain pills. I’m spending a lot of time in his chair.
Thank all of you for your kind words. They are helping me.
Love...Ms. Moon
I know you think its silly to send "healing vibes" so I wont tell you that I'm beaming some hard to you with all my heart. i love you woman, rest, rest, rest.
ReplyDeleteSo very sorry. Rest. Let your family do for you. Julia
ReplyDeleteOh dear Mary, Scoot over i will sit very still beside you and do some magic healing juju, I think i know how- something like a whisper of baby chick feather light, cloud cool, flower moist soft fragrance- and a thimble of good whiskey. Dang, you really did do it! Crocs make good planters...and by planter i do not mean planting you on your fallen down bum, I mean like succulents. Wish I could drop by some sherbet or something. How about CbD oil? Arnica? Maybe that would be helpful. It takes so long to heal , You poor beautiful woman. So sorry. love to you!
ReplyDeleteHoly shit, Mary! Four ribs - no wonder you were hurting bad. Hope your drugs are wonderfully effective. Thinking of you.
ReplyDeleteYes you really did do it! I’m so very sorry and hope the pain pills work. Lighting a candle for your healing. Much love
ReplyDeleteXoxo
Barbara
You baby boomers destroyed your own children's future, and then laughed about it and blamed it on them. Do you realize that you are going to end up in a retirement home where you are going to get treated like total trash, and abused? Your children won't be able to help you, even if they wanted to. Karma's a bitch, you boomer scum.
ReplyDeleteOh Anonymous?? STFU says this boomer scum.
DeleteThis isn't really the place to land your random rage, sweetie wierdo. Wrong target. Off you pop.
DeletePlease get one of your lovely family to order you some none slip footwear. I love crocs but as l have got more disabled am scared of em. One of your friends suggested short rubber boots. Wellingtons or wellies they are called here expect that might be racist or not PC now. Anyway get them to gather a selection of non slip stuff for you to look at. Stay in that chair. Love from across the pond Maggi
DeleteWhen I fell and broke my wrist, the orthopedic surgeon told me that osteoporosis made a break more likely, but had zero effect on my ability to heal the fracture. I hope your ribs knit quickly and cleanly. P.S. Take a stool softener with each pain pill. Don't ask how I know this. xo
ReplyDeleteOuch! I'm so sorry to hear this, but glad you went to the doctor and have pain meds. Please take them as needed and rest! Let your family take care of you!
ReplyDeleteSending you lots of love and good wishes for a speedy recovery. ❤
Goodness, worse than was thought and I am SO sorry to hear it. However......you have pain meds, the loving Mr Moon and a family and myriad of people to help. Turn the table and embrace all the help you can get.....and if the beans don't get picked- then so be it. Time to be a sloth......and heal (and breathe)
ReplyDeleteMuch love and a big hug (a gentle one, not a squeezey one)

Broken ribs (FOUR OF THEM?!) are nothing to laugh at...you know, because it hurts like hell. Take those pain pills and get some rest, sweet Mary!
ReplyDeleteBreathe often, rest much. Here's love, from Ohio. Get better.
ReplyDeleteShut, fuck, goddamn. 2020 can really suck it.
ReplyDeleteI am thinking of you and hope you are more comfortable tonight. Please rest and let everyone care for you, that part won't be easy. Love from hot and humid NY to hot and humid Florida.
ReplyDeleteHope the meds help and hope you're feeling better soon. Hugs and love.
ReplyDeleteOh rib pain is no fun at all! Do take care and let your husband wait on you. Take your pain meds! -Jenn
ReplyDeleteOh goodness darling. My dog walker called to tell me I still own him $ from March ( he never gave me the invoice) and oh BTW, he fell off a ladder and broke his neck and back. WTF. He is walking and is braced and trussed and will be ok. I met his gorgeous husband today so there's that.
ReplyDeleteHoney, take good care of yourself. We love you so much.
So sorry to hear this. But it's good that you did get x-rays. I've been concerned about potential lung damage, so I'm guessing that keeping an eye on that is part of the doctor's instructions.
ReplyDeleteDon't worry about posting. We'll keep checking but we can't be your priority right now.
Sending you tons of well wishes! I hope there are no complications and you heal well. Virtual hugs.
ReplyDeleteMy very best hopes and wishes for recovery. Healing is hard work. But you can do this. You are in a good place and a good body. Take care. Be patient and let it happen.
ReplyDeleteWell, you don't do things by halves ! 4 ribs ! Did the doc say how long it would take to heal? Hope it is quick. In the meantime just lay back and let the family take the strain.Sending love from UK....a hug would hurt you!!
ReplyDeleteOuch, Mary :( I wish I had something better to offer than thoughts and prayers, but heal well xx
ReplyDeleteOMG but glad that you got xrayed. A picture is always good. Keep breathing deeply - but what do I know - only what the google doctors say. Glad that you have Mr. Moon. You know of course that we are all pulling for you.
ReplyDeleteFour ribs. Yowza. And that doesn't even address the huge hematoma you found further down your body. That is a lot of pain. Rest. Rest. Rest. Need to allow yourself to heal through task-less days. Not fun, but necessary. Thinking of you.
ReplyDeleteWell, Mary, you just don't do things halfway do you. four with one blow! being idle sucks but idle you must be. let the family pamper you.
ReplyDeleteouch- i'm glad u went in and i hope the meds help you get some rest-
ReplyDeletexxalainaxx
I have just caught up with your recent drama. Ouch! At least now you know for sure that it is broken ribs you are dealing with. Hell - you have four to suffer - not just one! If I lived nearby I would bring you cornflowers and a flask of chicken soup. Get well soon Mary!
ReplyDeleteHope you feel better. And burn those crocs!
ReplyDeleteOh Lordy, FOUR ribs! That must be so painful. I'm so sorry. Hope the painkillers are strong enough for you!
ReplyDeleteFOUR?! Oh no!
ReplyDeleteI was starting to think it might be a good idea to get Xrays so I am glad you did. I can't help thinking of what a whack it must have been. I hope you've put those crocs in the trash. Keep on resting and healing. Your body will be working hard to put it all right.
