Here We Are

First let me say that I am so sorry I haven't answered comments for the past two days. I'll get to it.

Secondly, we have Gibson and Magnolia here tonight. Owen is doing Dungeons and Dragons with his dad, I think. So we just the young'uns. Maggie keeps going out to the hen house. I am not sure why she's so fascinated by it but she is.

I can't even explain how I've been feeling today. Emotionally, that is.
But scared is one of the things. Which does no good whatsoever. I want to shut all of my babies in a bubble until things are more clear and until testing begins there is not going to be any clarity and it is a complete disaster and unforgivable that we're still not set up for testing in this country.
My disgust and horror at and with Trump has reached new levels and I swear to you- I did not think that was possible.

I weeded and fertilized my peas today. I'm going to go make pizza after I collect Maggie from the hen house.
That's what's going on in Lloyd.

Be safe. Let's not panic. Love one another. Remember that people who are stockpiling toilet paper are just trying to control something. Anything. It might not make any sense but so often, nothing does.

Love...Ms. Moon

  1. I think a lot of buying, especially panic buying is a way to feel safe, especially when we aren't.

How lovely Maggie is. That child can't take a bad picture. I wonder if she's heard about possible chicks and is hoping to see some?

    1. Yes. We're just trying to all feel a little safer and if a room full of toilet paper does it for you- well, bless you.
I don't know what Maggie's fascination with the hen house is. She does love to find eggs and even cries when her brother finds one first.

  2. I wish you would tune into Ohio public radio. I am quite pleased with our governor, his team and their direction. Now both our university hospitals have drive through testing, with a doctor's order. Just the point of this administration having the teams in place, the infrastructure in place, and being willing to step up the the mic every day and explain the current situation is heartening. It still boils down to common sense at the personal level.

    1. Damn. I wish I LIVED in Ohio. Florida has no tests that I know of unless you are a major rich person/celebrity. If the government was a company, there would be so many class action suits here. I am enraged.
But yes. Common sense. Which is also in short supply.

  3. The upside of this pandemic is that it has shown tRump supporters how bad he really is. Fingers crossed.

    Stay healthy my friend.

    1. They won't accept that he has had anything to do with the inability of our country to deal with this.
      You stay healthy too!

  4. I flew out to Texas last week to help a friend and we’ve decided to hunker down for the foreseeable future. We aren’t spring chickens. Of course this really complicates the heartbreaking situation I’m trying to help her get through. I wish we could keep our loved ones in a bubble too. May you and your family stay safe and healthy.

    1. Thank you, Barbara. Yes, "hunker down" is the new phrase on everyone's lips. Y'all stay safe.

  5. I was just wondering how many times you had to collect Maggie from the hen house! Isn't the joy and innocence of children beautiful!

I keep trying to be sensible and all that but you know sometimes it just gets hard. Enjoy those wonderful kids and take care of yourself.

    1. It is hellishly hard to be sensible all the time. We try.
I have no idea how many times I had to go get Maggie. She is a quick-runner-to-the-hen-house!

  6. Even the most well-prepared and rigorous countries in the world are lagging behind with their testing. But I am sorry to say that America's testing regime is probably on a par with Burkina Faso and Bolivia - no matter what King Donald says. In England today one newspaper headline is "ARMY TO GUARD HOSPITALS AND SUPERMARKETS" and another is "NOW OVER 70'S FACE STAY AT HOME ORDER". Where is Superman when you need him?

    1. Where IS Superman? He could probably use his X-Ray vision to look inside us and see if we have the virus. No test needed!
America HAS no testing regime yet. None. This is yet another example of Trump's criminal behavior but in this case, people are going to die.

  7. Just keep in mind that it's not a deadly virus approaching but that 80% of cases are mild and people recover.
Here, we are told to that grandkids should not visit grandparents as the elderly are at risk while kids "just" transmit the virus. I just had my sister on the phone in tears (she has two). As our grandchild is on the other side of the planet anyway, I highly recommend that you all get your facetime, skype or whatsapp in order because you can share bedtime stories, sing-a-longs, playtime, even meals etc. that way.

    1. I know, Sabine. It's true. On the one hand we do not need to panic but on the other hand, we cannot be sanguine, can we? The thought of not seeing my grands is overwhelmingly horrible for me but you're right. We have to protect each other.

  8. That is a brilliant observation about the toilet paper. I hadn't thought of it that way.

Fortunately, COVID doesn't seem to be bad news for kids. As I understand it they don't seem to get very sick at all. This is one of the things scientists are trying to understand, apparently.

    1. I know. I'm not worried about the littles getting it and that is a very big relief.

    1. It's damn hard not to hug, isn't it?
I think we're all checking on each other more. And that is a good thing.

  10. It is hard not to Hug and have Human Contact, we are Social Beings. It is hard for us Oldtimers to be Mindful of not being around the Young, who could be carriers. I'm down to one Grandchild I'm Raising and I cannot lie, I was concerned that when they were still requiring them to be in School, I had no Control over what she might drag Home from attending Classes that could Kill us?! Plus, she herself is Medically Fragile so that terrified me too! Thankfully they closed the Schools without me having to just tell the System I wasn't sending her for those reasons. I know that will be difficult for so many Families tho' ... it's all so complicated, isn't it?
