I'm sure that within a few moments, Obama's speech at Newtown will be all over the internet.
If you didn't see it, just find it and do it.

I am fifty-eight years old and I have never seen a politician or a world leader give a speech this profoundly genuine.

Change is going to come. That man is so angry and I think that at this moment, he is determined that no matter what else he given to him to deal with, this one issue- the murder of children by crazy people with guns- is going to be the one which will ultimately define his presidency.

And perhaps be his mission on this earth.

I can't tell you how much I want him to succeed. How grateful I am that he is our president.

  1. Me too. I believe he will make this his legacy. We have all witnessed enough horror. Somebody needs to save us from ourselves.

  7. I too was moved by his eulogy. My son texted me from college to make sure I was watching. It feels like a watershed moment some how, some way. I am so glad to think others here sense this too. (Typed awkwardly on my kindle fire...)

  10. I think there's a reason we voted him back. I heard some reports that this was the best speech he's ever given.
I also read that all the pro gun senators were asked to appear on Meet the Press and all 31 of them refused.
    Doesn't surprise me.
I, too, want Obama to succeed. I hope to God he does.

  11. I felt profoundly comforted, ironically, by him alone during that prayer vigil. Each spiritual person was lovely, but it wasn't until I heard the sorrow and power and restrained anger in Obama's voice that I felt LED.

  12. Somehow, this terrible event will push us into a higher awareness of caring for each other or having more compassion for the ones among us who are struggling. Our president is emotive, rational, and refined and we are so lucky to have him.
