NO! I say. You cannot eat Owen.
We are learning each other, this guy and I. Right now he is in his little bouncy seat, trying to figure out how to get the thingees hanging down from it. Because he isn't quite aware yet that his fingers belong to HIM, this is not an easy task. But it will happen so soon. So very soon.
He went for his regular check-up yesterday and he is gaining well but is still in the 25th percentile of weight. Now length? 93rd percentile. Is he just like his granddaddy or what? Long and skinny boy. And the doctor was amazed at his ability to hold himself upright. He is strong! Again, just like his grandfather.
Okay. He is starting to fuss. I just wanted to report in. I could have washed the dishes but oh hell.
Reporting off....Gramoon.
Will you make me a rangoon, Gramoon?
ReplyDeleteCute! My daughter is one of those long skinny kids too. I should be so lucky. I'm more of the short non-skinny variety.
ReplyDeleteWe are all long and skinny in my family! That picture is so cute. Owen looks like he really wants that egg!
ReplyDeleteThat picture made me smile. What a lucky kid Owen is, to be in your sling.
ReplyDeleteOh I love the slings, as long as they ride happy, you are free to move about in comfort, snuggling all the while. What a great picture of Gramoon and the boy and the egg. Perfect.
ReplyDeleteI love reading your stories about Owen! I miss when my kids were small enough to carry in a sling. Oh, I could probably still hip carry Sylvie, but she just wants to be down down down. Enjoy it! I know you are.
ReplyDeleteHe's so cute! But, you already know that. :)
ReplyDeleteSo is that your official name for Owen? Gramoon?
ReplyDeleteHe looks like an explorer!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you chose us over dishes.
ReplyDeleteI covet your porch, your Owen, your egg, your blue sweatshirt, but in a good, friendly way not in the wrong way the bible talks about (I think I heard something about that as a kid in church).
He is so beautiful and so aware! I am happy that you are learning each other.
ReplyDeleteI love that picture!!
ReplyDeleteah he is such a lil bundle of wonderfulness..:-)
ReplyDeletein my family we are all tall too...even my sisters are tall...
ps: i love the fish in the backround too..
The kids in our family are usually long and lean, too. Old Dog's g-kids, though, tend the other way, adorable little dumplings that they are.
ReplyDeleteMy mom always said that the dishes could wait. Friends and children couldn't. So I'm glad you checked in.
ReplyDeleteGramoon. I love that. And I always loved carrying my babies around all the time, either in a sling or a Baby Bjorn. Also always loved going for long walks with a baby strapped to me. The best.
ReplyDeleteAww man, ain't that just the sweetest little bit of life you got there? Now I really want to hold him in the sling.
ReplyDeleteLove you ma!
Steph- If I knew what one was, most certainly.
ReplyDeleteRachel- Me too.
Lois- And before you know it, I will scramble him one.
Brother Ball- And I think he knows it.
Mel- And that is my world right now.
Lora- It's like being reborn.
Nicol- I can't hear it enough.
Mwa- I'm thinking....
Ginger- We explore so many things and there are so many things yet to explore.
Bethany- I would covet my life too.
Ms. Dish- We are. It is lovely.
Jo- You would love this boy, too.
Danielle- Mr. Moon's daughters are tall. Lily is six feet. The fish? A friend found it in a garage of a house he bought.
Jeanne- We have two sorts of dumplings- long, like pasta, and short, like biscuits. All good.
Angie- I couldn't help myself.
Michelle- You know it!
HoneyLuna- Get this damn semester over with and come join us. Love you...Mama
Excellent report! And soooooo cute! What a lucky little guy to spend days with you Ms. Moon!
ReplyDeleteThat boy's eyes are outrageous!
ReplyDeleteHe is adorable! It's so good you're getting to spend all this time with him and to get to know each other. He's a lucky little boy! That's so cute how he's looking at the egg!
ReplyDeleteI would! I wanna squeeze him!
ReplyDeleteAnd if the dishes from my daughters making cookies late last night are still here, but I went for a run and now am having coffee and looking at this adorable photo.... is that still okay?
ReplyDeleteAJ- Ah. I am the lucky one.
ReplyDeleteElizabeth- And he lends them to me with their wonder.
Joy- He looks upon eggs with as much delight as I do- a miracle!
Jo- Sometimes I am afraid I am going to bite a finger of his off entirely.
Deb- Of course!
Gramoon! Excellent.
ReplyDeleteMs. Bastard- Whenever I say the word "Gramoon" to Owen he smiles.
