Addendum

Earlier today, after Lily and Gibson left to go get Owen at school, I noticed that my Roseland thrift store Buddha was missing from the little table on the back porch where I start nursery seedlings and rootlings.
"Mmmm," I said. "Wonder where Buddha went?"
Just a few moments ago I went into the Glen Den to tidy up before supper and this is what I found.

Toys where Gibson had been playing.

Now. Look closely.

Porch Buddha along with the little mantel Buddha I keep on the library fireplace mantel, a smooth stone and seashell I keep there too and in Big Buddha's lap, the tiny little rock I found that looks like a bird.

Gibson went and collected all of these things and brought them together and I found them and I just lost my heart once again.

  1. That would have sent my hysterical bawling, the day I'm having! How frigging precious is that?!

  3. That is priceless. Is it just me or does it look like Budda has a penis in the second photo? I love seeing what children create in their play .

  4. That is so sweet. I think Buddha goes beautifully in Fisher Price Farmland.

  5. Heartinhand- He is a funny boy, that Gibson. I never would have expected him to gather these things and put them together.

    Birdie- Isn't it the truth?

Leisha- It does look a bit like that but it's a little stone that looks like a bird.

Elizabeth- He loves to set up little scenarios. He's got three going there. Yes! I think it fits right in!

Angella- He is. And he can be a typical three- year old too. He knows his own mind and he doesn't waffle about, letting you know what's on it.

Ellen Abbott- They really are, aren't they?

  6. MerMer's buddhas. Beautiful. I love that they're on the farm. There's a Zen Old MacDonald joke to be made her, but I don't have it in me to find it tonight.
