Youtubin' It In (Lucky For You)

I got nothin' for you today. Nothin'. My well has run dry. No water, no shimmering pool down there in the depths of sweet, clear goodness. Just dry old dust and perhaps a murky puddle of mud.
I wish I could figure out how to post an audio clip here. My dear friend, the incredibly talented songwriter/musician/cake-baker Lis Williamson sent me a clip of a song she wrote called Paint The Town. In it she sings about a woman asking her man to take her out of the sticks where they live and into town where they can drink a martini and dance. It's so lovely. And although I have gone to blogger help to try and figure this out, all I get is how to do a podcast and god knows I don't want to do a podcast. There's not even a little icon up there in the icon section which would indicate an audio dealieo.
Well, as the multi-talented Wrecking Ball would so succinctly put it:
BASTARDS!!!!!
Anyway, I just went and found a youtube of Lizzie singing another one of her songs called Deep which is also a lovely song and I am going to try and embed it here for you.

I may be dry as dust but Lis is always right there, on youtube and at a venue near you to sing you into in a better mood.

Enjoy. And wait until you hear that last note. Dang. That girl's an angel.

  1. You really do need a night out with your man.
I need a night out with ANY man. Okay, not ANY man...I'd prefer one not in diapers.

  2. Oh my, that was lovely! Are they local? I've been missing out!

  3. Rachel- No. A man in diapers is not what you need. You have plenty of that.
    Well. We shall see.

Magnum- Lon and Lis live over near Keystone Heights but lived in Tallahassee a long time ago and are still beloved to many in this area. They play here occasionally. They have CD's for sale and I highly recommend them.
Go to www.gatorbone.com for a listen to some of their work.

  4. That was seriously amazing. A very well written number and not easy to sing. Very VERY impressive. It makes you want to write a t.v. show or movie so she could sing the soundtrack. Please let us all know when she is coming to town. I'm all in.

  5. Brother B- When Lon and Lis played in Tallahassee their band was called Rose Tattoo. They may be playing in Tallahassee in May. They've got a gig at the land co-op and are trying to get something going at the Warehouse (where they always draw a huge crowd) to coincide.
If you come, you will see my whole crew, half my neighbors and my beloved Billy and Shayla and Billy's mama. We're all huge, huge fans.
That was like the second song Lis wrote or something. She's already winning awards for her songs. And Lon's got an entire CD of his amazing songs. Streetlight Serenade. It's one of my all-time favorite CD's. They're working on recording Lis's songs now.
