We just found that tiny little olive-colored, olive-shaped speckled egg in the nest with the regular eggs.
WHAT THE HELL?
I'd say that one of the hens just had a weird, off day but none of our hens have ever laid an egg of that color. Not in this flock, anyway.
Oh, the mystery of birds.
Who knew that a hen could lay an April Fool's egg?!
ReplyDeleteRight?
DeleteI bet there is a very small Godzilla in there. What a cute egg.
ReplyDeleteOh god. That would be the best.
DeleteI had a small hen that used to lay small eggs like that! Her name was Tiger and the fried eggs were soooo cute!
ReplyDeleteThis is smaller than the smallest banty egg I've ever personally seen.
DeleteYou sure it's not the resident cuckoo pranking you?
ReplyDeleteWe do not have cuckoos but I think something else might have tried to put one over on the hens.
DeleteHow funny.
ReplyDeleteTruly.
DeleteMaybe it's from a cuckoo?!
ReplyDeleteOh, I see Boud got there before me. LOL
DeleteSomeone on the Tallahassee Backyard Poultry group suggested a cowbird.
DeleteI am endlessly fascinated by the many colors of your flock's eggs!
