We just found that tiny little olive-colored, olive-shaped speckled egg in the nest with the regular eggs.
WHAT THE HELL?
I'd say that one of the hens just had a weird, off day but none of our hens have ever laid an egg of that color. Not in this flock, anyway.
Oh, the mystery of birds.
Who knew that a hen could lay an April Fool's egg?!ReplyDelete
I bet there is a very small Godzilla in there. What a cute egg.ReplyDelete
Oh god. That would be the best.Delete
I had a small hen that used to lay small eggs like that! Her name was Tiger and the fried eggs were soooo cute!ReplyDelete
This is smaller than the smallest banty egg I've ever personally seen.Delete
You sure it's not the resident cuckoo pranking you?ReplyDelete
We do not have cuckoos but I think something else might have tried to put one over on the hens.Delete
Maybe it's from a cuckoo?!ReplyDelete
Oh, I see Boud got there before me. LOLDelete
Someone on the Tallahassee Backyard Poultry group suggested a cowbird.Delete
I am endlessly fascinated by the many colors of your flock's eggs!ReplyDelete
