Pictures

I sent this picture to Mr. Moon last night with the text, "I think it's time for you to come home."

This book means a whole lot to me. Thank you, Sarah.

The martini glasses and blue vase I did not buy on Saturday but went back today and got.

Every last piece in its proper place.

What Floyd and Sam have accomplished so far. It looks better already.

And Mr. Moon is home. I did cry.

Let's see if I can remember how to make supper for two.

Love...Ms. Moon

  1. It's pleasing that you went back for those martini glasses and the blue vase. How could you have lived without them? I bet you were over the moon to have Senor Moon home again. Finally - I hope there's some wildlife left in Canada.

    1. There was a porcupine in the neighborhood this morning, so at least some wildlife has survived:)

    2. Mr. P.- Mr. Moon did not even fire his gun. Or pull his bow, whatever his weapon was. The bucks were not cooperating.
      Pixie- Ha!

  2. The martini glasses and the blue vase are really cool. The blue vase is so pretty. Could you put cut flowers in it?
Progress is being made on the house. Glad Mr. Moon arrived safely and hope he can stay awhile. I imagine he's eager to get to the pier with a house.
Maurice looks deep in thought....like...how can I kill that doll? LOL

    1. Oh yes, no reason not to put flowers in the vase. That's what it's for.
This house project is going to take a long, long time. But hopefully, this will have been the start.
Maurice does not seem to be concerned with the doll in actual life but who knows? You could be right.

    1. Well, as I said to Jessie today, "Your daddy is living his best life." I imagine he'll be heading back over to the lake pretty soon.

  4. My late husband was a carpenter. He wanted to do everything himself when we needed work on the house. So the thought of hiring someone else was unthinkable. But he also never got around to making repairs. I'm very impressed with Mr. Moon.

    1. Same with Mr. Moon. Not only can he do carpentry, he was a painter too. And man, he is picky. And no, he hates paying anybody anything he could do himself but he's at a stage in life where he realizes there are some things he just cannot tackle anymore.
And you are so right about the not getting around to making repairs.
      Sigh.

  5. There is real artwork in the mending of your house. Those guys know how to make it right. The martini glasses look just right for you. I am an old bourbon on the rocks girl myself. But cherry or apple or peach flavored bourbon really makes my heart sing.

    1. I like the martini glasses. Perhaps the kink in the stems will make holding them less of an accident waiting to happen.
Mr. Moon does love bourbon too but not any fruity kinds.

The new wood siding on the house looks to perfection. You must be very pleased. The guys do great work.

I am indeed very pleased with the work the guys did on the siding.

  18. Excellent work on the house so far. I think I'd have passed on the martini glasses especially with that weird unnecessary tray that takes up unnecessary space but they are nice colors.

    1. The tray is rather unnecessary but it came with the glasses and so we have it. I like the glasses.

  19. Oooh, good call on those martini glasses. As for The Yearling, I recently tried to read it, but couldn't deal with the sadness.

    1. Yes. A lot of sadness in that story. I believe it's a pretty authentic rendering of early Florida settlers though. Times were hard as hell.

  22. I let some Vienna drink glasses get away from me at a thrift shop and have always regretted it... Good on you for going back and getting your glasses! Have you ever gone to Cross Creek and the Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings Historic site? She wrote The Yearling there, and they have her typewriter which for some reason I found very moving Recommend it highly.

Yes. I have been to Cross Creek several times. I love it.
