I sent this picture to Mr. Moon last night with the text, "I think it's time for you to come home."
The martini glasses and blue vase I did not buy on Saturday but went back today and got.
Every last piece in its proper place.
What Floyd and Sam have accomplished so far. It looks better already.
And Mr. Moon is home. I did cry.
Let's see if I can remember how to make supper for two.
Love...Ms. Moon
It's pleasing that you went back for those martini glasses and the blue vase. How could you have lived without them? I bet you were over the moon to have Senor Moon home again. Finally - I hope there's some wildlife left in Canada.
ReplyDeleteThere was a porcupine in the neighborhood this morning, so at least some wildlife has survived:)
DeleteMr. P.- Mr. Moon did not even fire his gun. Or pull his bow, whatever his weapon was. The bucks were not cooperating.
DeletePixie- Ha!
The martini glasses and the blue vase are really cool. The blue vase is so pretty. Could you put cut flowers in it?
ReplyDeleteProgress is being made on the house. Glad Mr. Moon arrived safely and hope he can stay awhile. I imagine he's eager to get to the pier with a house.
Maurice looks deep in thought....like...how can I kill that doll? LOL
Paranormal John
Oh yes, no reason not to put flowers in the vase. That's what it's for.
DeleteThis house project is going to take a long, long time. But hopefully, this will have been the start.
Maurice does not seem to be concerned with the doll in actual life but who knows? You could be right.
I'm glad Mr moon is home. I hope he stays longer this time. And it's good to see work on the house.
ReplyDeleteWell, as I said to Jessie today, "Your daddy is living his best life." I imagine he'll be heading back over to the lake pretty soon.
DeleteMy late husband was a carpenter. He wanted to do everything himself when we needed work on the house. So the thought of hiring someone else was unthinkable. But he also never got around to making repairs. I'm very impressed with Mr. Moon.
ReplyDeleteSame with Mr. Moon. Not only can he do carpentry, he was a painter too. And man, he is picky. And no, he hates paying anybody anything he could do himself but he's at a stage in life where he realizes there are some things he just cannot tackle anymore.
DeleteAnd you are so right about the not getting around to making repairs.
Sigh.
There is real artwork in the mending of your house. Those guys know how to make it right. The martini glasses look just right for you. I am an old bourbon on the rocks girl myself. But cherry or apple or peach flavored bourbon really makes my heart sing.
ReplyDeleteI like the martini glasses. Perhaps the kink in the stems will make holding them less of an accident waiting to happen.
DeleteMr. Moon does love bourbon too but not any fruity kinds.
I would have cried, too. I’m glad he’s home.
ReplyDeleteIt was just my reaction. I suppose I was relieved he made it back.
DeleteLuckily the 4 martini glasses and blue vase were still waiting for you. Love the colors.
ReplyDeleteThe new wood siding on the house looks to perfection. You must be very pleased. The guys do great work.
Yes. I am so glad the glasses and vase were still there.
DeleteI am indeed very pleased with the work the guys did on the siding.
How does that vase defy gravity?
ReplyDeleteIt's the optic waves! Seriously, it's an optic wave vase.
DeleteHooray for the return of Mr. Moon!
ReplyDeleteIndeed.
DeleteYou cried and I'm guessing he gave you a big hug.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you went back for the martini glasses and that blue vase which is quite beautiful.
Floyd and Same do beautiful work.
Oh yes, Big hugs. Lots of hugs.
DeleteI, too, approve of Floyd and Sam's work.
Yay!
ReplyDeleteAmen.
DeleteLove your glass finds!!
ReplyDeleteHave a nice evening ~
Thank you.
DeleteLOVE the blue vase, the martini glasses are nice. Floyd and Sam are doing a GREAT job!! Your whole house will be ship-shape in no time.
ReplyDeleteOh, it's going to take a LOT of time. Trust me.
DeleteThey are the most elegant martini glasses ever!
ReplyDeleteSo glad your love is home. All the pieces in the right place..xx
Exactly.
DeleteGorgeous work your carpenters are doing! Must feel so comforting to see this quality going into your beloved home!
ReplyDeleteIt really is.
DeleteBoy that is one creepy, scary picture!
ReplyDeleteThe one of my doll? Dorothy is not creepy to me. She is just very old and very loved.
DeleteIm so excited about the home repairs. The siding looks beautiful. The photo and message to Mr. Moon cracked us both up this morning. And oh how I love your purchases.
ReplyDeleteNothing could make me happier than making you and SG laugh. I'm serious.
DeleteI like my new pretties too.
Hope the kidney stones are leaving you alone, too. Sounds like you are feeling better.
ReplyDeleteYes. I mostly am feeling better.
DeleteExcellent work on the house so far. I think I'd have passed on the martini glasses especially with that weird unnecessary tray that takes up unnecessary space but they are nice colors.
ReplyDeleteThe tray is rather unnecessary but it came with the glasses and so we have it. I like the glasses.
DeleteOooh, good call on those martini glasses. As for The Yearling, I recently tried to read it, but couldn't deal with the sadness.
ReplyDeleteYes. A lot of sadness in that story. I believe it's a pretty authentic rendering of early Florida settlers though. Times were hard as hell.
DeleteI'm glad Mr. Moon is home. I know you missed him. And I'm so glad you went back for the fun glasses and the vase! The more of these touches you add to the cabin, the more it will feel like yours.
ReplyDeleteYou are exactly correct in all regards.
DeleteThe tray those glasses came with makes this find even better!
ReplyDeleteJackie M
The orange color is sort of coming off the tray but hell- nothing is perfect.
DeleteI let some Vienna drink glasses get away from me at a thrift shop and have always regretted it... Good on you for going back and getting your glasses! Have you ever gone to Cross Creek and the Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings Historic site? She wrote The Yearling there, and they have her typewriter which for some reason I found very moving Recommend it highly.
ReplyDeleteI think we've all regretted leaving something at a store. Of course we've probably all regretted buying certain things too
DeleteYes. I have been to Cross Creek several times. I love it.
So glad Mr Moon is safely home! I love those martini glasses...and that *oh so retro* tray they sit on! And...hope your kidney stone has tucked itself away again and gone back to sleep....
ReplyDeleteSusan M
It is pretty retro, the whole set. I am surprised I can't find anything like it online.
DeleteThe stone is quiet for this moment.
The martini glasses are gorgeous, Floyd and Sam are doing excellent work, and Mr Moon is home. All is right.
ReplyDeleteAll is pretty close to pretty darn good.
