Hmmm. Well. As these things sometimes do go, the kidney stone has chosen to make its move. Or something.
It's been dancing around for the past few days but just the same old stuff. Nothing too painful or alarming. Actually, as you know, it's been making its presence known for weeks. But again- nothing alarming.
Today I was looking for something in a closet, leaned over, and I guess the damn thing slipped into another spot. This stone is too large to ever pass, according to the urologist, and it's just been a wait-and-see situation for a long time. But I've been waiting and now I'm seeing and unless I'm forced to go to an ER before the weekend is over, I will be discussing all of this with the urologist on Monday. It hurts. Not horribly so but it's a different kind of pain and feels like it may mean business. I just slept for almost three hours and that is certainly not normal.
But I'm not having bleeding, that I can see, I'm not running a fever, I'm not vomiting, etc. If any of those things happen, off to the ER I will go.
Thank god Mr. Moon is home.

DeleteIf the stone has been announcing itself for weeks and is too big to pass, maybe it’s time to revisit the options? I’d hate for it to really act up when Glen is out of town.

DeleteI also am very glad Mr Moon is home, you don't need to be alone and have to drive yourself to ER with that much pain. Hopefully now "they" will decide to balst is to smithereens, which you still have to pass but at least then it will be gone.

DeleteOuch. Here's hoping things settle down and you can get seen by the urologist on Monday. Nobody wants a trip to the ER but if you have to go then off you go! It was kind of the stone to behave until Mr Moon returned home.

DeleteCrap, girl! Monday is a long way off. Don't mess around. If the pain continues to get worse or gets worse all of a sudden, then get your bony little self to the ER! No one I have ever known who had a kidney stone was ever sorry they had it taken care of, sooner rather than later.

ReplyDeleteIt has been very manageable. Thank goodness. I told Glen today that once you've had a kidney stone, all other pain becomes relative. Does this hurt? Well, yeah. A little but NOTHING COMPARED TO THAT LAST KIDNEY STONE!

ReplyDeleteThe ER has always been so great to me. It's a freestanding one associated with the hospital but it never seems busy and they just get to me right away. BUT, yes, I'd rather avoid that all together.
