Somewhat Puny

And that's about the sum of what I've done today and to be honest, most of it was done before today.

I've been sick! Stomach issues. It may or may not be due to some leftover soup I ate yesterday for lunch. Not the most recent soup, but a soup from a week ago. It had been in the refrigerator the whole time but who knows?
Not me.

It wasn't horrible. Just time spent in the bathroom and some pretty intense stomach cramps which I dealt with by working on the puzzle and rocking to and fro like an observant Jew at prayer. Sounds weird but it worked for me.

I'm feeling better although still a bit wary of eating. I had a few crackers and that feels okay. I also found some ginger ale in the pantry- part of the Purple Cow recipe- and had some of that over crushed ice which, as I texted Jessie, actually helped.
"Now all I need is some Archie comicbooks," I said.

And yes- the Vergil/Jessie family made it home about two a.m. after many delayed flights. Levon was up and ready to go to school at the usual time but August slept late and stayed home. That Levon. He is like his Boppy in so many ways.

I will report in tomorrow.

Love...Ms. Moon

  1. Rocking like a a jew at prayer... The simile might be seen as antisemitic but not by me I hasten to add. I wonder what the completed jigsaw will reveal. It's hard to know what is going on there.

    1. I beg to differ, Mr. P. Observant males of some Jewish sects do indeed sway and rock as they pray. It is called "shuckling." I cast no judgement on the practice, but while I was doing it, I thought to myself that it must be what it looked like I was doing.
That puzzle is mostly flowers and a bird.

  3. We have the current nonovirus running through the complex, and that involves several hundred residents and almost as many staff. I had it and my daughter caught it, just being in the building. You take care.
    Hooray Levon, what a trooper.

    1. Joanne! On top of everything else you've been going through? That's terrible!
Levon is a sturdy little man.

  4. should have boiled that soup for an hour. I'm leery of eating anything that's been in the fridge for a week. on rare occasions my body will tell me about 2 in the morning that I shouldn't have eaten whatever it was. a couple of hours of frequent trips to the toilet and I'm usually fine in the morning. I know...tmi. tough.

    1. Yeah. I was kind of thinking it might not be the soup because it took so long to affect me but when I went to bed, I knew that something was off. It was more cramping than anything. Unpleasant but not torturous.

  5. I always hope when I have the poops, that it will show up as weight loss on the scale! Ha! No such luck! Damn it!!

  6. Sorry you're not well today. It might be a virus, not food borne, which you'll know if anyone else seems to catch it, which we hope they won't. Enjoy your puzzle.

    1. Now I'm realizing that I need to get that puzzle done before Sunday because we're going to need that table! All the tables, in fact.
      Oh dear.

  7. Feel better and avoid old soup. The husband of a friend defrosted sausages in the hot queensland sun and ended up in hospital for days with severe food poisoning.

  8. Ack! tummy troubles! I would never eat soup more than two days old, even refrigerated. Any not eaten on day one and two gets tossed out. Usually I freeze portions the same day I make it, so they're okay to eat once thawed.
    The jigsaw looks interesting.

    1. I should freeze more things but I always forget what's in the freezer and it gets hidden and then when I do find it I'm like, "What was this?" I know. I could label things.
