I went shopping with Jessie Moon today and we were in an antique/vintage store. I was perusing some sort of old stuff and behind me I heard a distinctive whir, whir, whir, whir, whir.
Jessie was playing with an egg beater.
"Hey!" I said. "I blogged about egg beaters today."
"You did?" she asked.
"I did," I said.
And then I took her picture.
Ain't she cute?
she is.
ReplyDeleteand now I miss my old egg beater.
and I love that painting of poppies? leaning there.
hope you are feeling a little less old.
I suppose manual egg beaters are now considered antiques. I still have a set, a pair, a... whatever generic term you use for egg beaters. They are useful for beating cream and other consistently light food stuffs need a beat.
ReplyDeleteJesse is cute indeed. How quaint the antique world must seem to her.
Thanks, Ms Moon.
Cute n' tiny waisted :)
ReplyDeleteI have a beautiful De Longhi electric hand mixer, that is heavy but does such a good job. And it's chord wraps up inside itself when you turn the bottom. It's good.
Awwww Mrs. Moon, you just made me miss my Grandma. I remember her using her egg beater. The handle was wooden and painted red. She made the best cakes I've ever had. It must have been magic.

She is too cute! :)
ReplyDeleteWhen my mom baked when I was young, I always got to use the egg beater and the flour sifter. I was such a lucky girl!
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, Jessie is cute. She could probably bring egg beaters back into style!!
Cute? She's gorgeous! I was never quite comfortable holding that teeny handle on eggbeaters though I've still got one lying dormant way back in a drawer. I like whisks, with a great big bowl.
ReplyDeleteNice photo and nice egg beater. You have good genes.
ReplyDeleteShe is gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteYou are obviously very tuned in to one another as evidenced by your egg beater "coincidence." (No such thing as a "coincidence.")
ha ms moon..we all know where she that cutness from...:-))))
ReplyDeleteuh...yeah, I mean...errr...

deb- Unfortunately, older by the moment.
ReplyDeleteElisabeth- She sort of embraces the old. Lucky for me.
Jo- Sounds awesome.
Karen- Yep. Probably magic.
Corinne- And she's really, really funny.
Jill- I'm thinking...
A- I'm with you on the whisk.
Syd- Thank-you!
Lisa- It was odd. When I heard that sound I knew immediately what it was.
Danielle- Well, mine is hidden.
Magnum- Stop it!
Jessie is adorable and MEAN.
ReplyDeleteGood morning, doll.
How goes it this am , Ms. Moon?
ReplyDeleteI' m procrastinating some errand running and was looking for some blessings here :)
No Elizabeth, no Ms. Moon.
what's the world coming to.
Deb- Okay. Bless you. There. Is that better? Love...Ms. Moon
ReplyDeleteWell dang, Mama. Your blog is quite the ego booster for me. Thank you all for the complements. I wish I had taken a picture of you, Mama, so that everyone could see how beautiful you were yesterday in your sparkling eyeshadow and lipstick.
ReplyDeleteNow the thing about those "antique" eggbeaters is that they are just plain fun to use. I think children these days are deprived of such basic fun. So how could I pass by it yesterday and not crank it around a bit?
Love you, Ma!
She is!
ReplyDeleteHoneyLuna- Let's face it- I have gorgeous children.
ReplyDeleteMwa- But really, her beauty comes from inside her.
