Here's a boy on his sixteenth birthday getting his first pedicure with his mother and his grandmother. This may not be exactly what most sixteen year old boys do on their birthdays but Lily thought it would be excellent and I really needed a pedicure so off we went and I think Owen had a pretty good time.
And no, he didn't get any color on his nails.
We tried to talk him into it but he was not interested.
And now we're about to go and eat supper with the family, or at least all of those who can make it.
If any of you want to go back and read about Owen's birth, you can go HERE. I am so aware of the fact that some of you have been visiting here since before Owen was born and you remember that day too. That seems crazy to me.
Crazy sweet.
I've been thinking about that day so long ago and yet, it was also only two winks, a nap, and a diaper change ago.
Time is odd.

DeleteHappy 16th birthday to Owen. I like the fact that he is sporting long hair at the moment - finding his own style and he has a nice , mischievous smile... or maybe he was just finding the pedicure rather ticklish!
ReplyDeleteAnd that is exactly the way his hair grows on its own. He cut it very short, same length all over awhile ago and that's what it looks like now.

Happy 16th birthday to Owen. I am confused though. What is the age to drive in Florida? Doesn't he drive already???
ReplyDeleteIt has to be one year after you got your learner's permit before you can get your driving test and be licensed. For some reason that I cannot remember (he had to finish a driving course?) he didn't get that permit until a month after his birthday. So...one more month.
DeleteBut he is already driving with a licensed adult in the car.
Here, one can't get a learner's permit until you have turned 16. I guess I just thought it was everywhere.

DeleteI am not surprised Owen didn't opt for color. That's a tall order for any 16-year-old boy, I think, no matter how liberal-minded. Hey, at least you got him in the pedicurist's (is that a word?) chair!
