But I fixed the first green beans of the season, and they were SO good! I wish I had tomatoes, but here in Illinois we don't get them until mid-July.<br />I love reading about the boys being with you. Growing up, both my Grandmas lived in apartments so instead of us us visiting them, they visited us. Now, my great-grandma, she was a different story. I'd go stay at the farm with her for a few days, and she'd make peach cobbler and homemade peach ice cream on our shared birthday. We were born the end of August, so heating up the kitchen was a big deal. Of,course, we took turns churning the ice cream, and re-wrapping the churn in an old rag rug she'd made. Such wonderful memories, and we've tried to do the same with our grandkids. Owen and Gibson (not to mention the babies on the way) will have a lifetime of Mer and Boppy memories. Personally, I don't think you could ask for more!Catrinahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17408495829569772826noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2086296370004835655.post-73913959171815608552015-06-22T21:25:07.361-04:002015-06-22T21:25:07.361-04:00How beautifully you write. I could never put into words the feeling you bestow by writing, "Mothers' bellies swell with the growth of their babes, grandmothers pin clothes on the line and pin dreams to their daughters' bellies, just as they once pinned dreams on their own bellies; these dreams which just now reach fruition." Beautiful! I am so sorry I will never be a grandmother.
