You'd make more money working at Publix and the hours would be a hell of a lot better. And we'll all be together tonight (except for our dear Hillary who is out on the high seas, probably wishing she wasn't) and that will be good and yes, life will go on and you have your Handsome Henry, your Beautiful Ben, your Darling Jack.

A postscript to The Story. I'm glad you did.

Congratulations to Jack and Jan. They don't have to live the future, just today, and they can do it together. And to all of this marvelous blogging family, Jack and I thank you so much for your love and support. I will read and re-read this entry and all the comments over and over again and I will continue to laugh and cry every single time and feel strengthened by you all. Jack and I read them together this afternoon and did just that. Honey Luna, you know we love you and are just itching to get you back into another play! A few folks have asked us if this play was the impetus for us to make this humongous move. Of course, the answer is no. On Golden Pond, possibly, but Sex Please, no. We had a litany of reasons for this schedule, but a part of me does truly believe that we were able to finally take this step because we are surrounded by the people we love and we know love us and that you would not desert us but wrap us in you loving arms and tell us everything would be okay. And you have, and it will, and we love you all. And as for the job -12 years - damn - but life goes on. We’ll survive. Thank you, Jan and Jack (who read this comment and asked me to include his name as well)

I think it's beautiful. In Spanish there is an old saying "En el pecado esta la penitencia" (in the sin is the penance) and I am not talking about Jan and Jack. I am talking about someone who because she has no life needs to meddle in the happiness of others, something that must make her more miserable than what she already is.

Jan and Jack need no one's permission to give themselves each other's light. What that woman doesn't know and life is bound to tell her is that she will die a lonely and unloved death, because those who meddle in the affairs of the heart are perpetually haunted by the shadows of loneliness.

And what moral cowards that whole group of sanctimonious donors and the less than backboned Chairman of the Opera are who still believe in scarlet letters. Two people in love, no matter what route they took to get there are to be respected for the chance they are taking, indeed feel sorry for the other two partners, but as you so aptly put it, the equation is clear: where they were four miserable people at least two now are bound together not because they had to stay together but because they chose to be together.

I know that if I were a donor and someone brought this garbage to my door I will raise holy hell and demand to know what business of hers is it and tell her in no uncertain terms never to call me again, and then call the backboneless Chairman and let him or her know that unless nothing is done about this issue the Opera house better start finding how to survive without my help.

Arghhh, now I am really angry about the whole thing. Boors! at a time when we need more than ever to celebrate love, those in charge are blind to it. What a world we live in!

Jan and Jack, good for you. May you live to see the sunrise every day together and may the Moon set on your dreams every night.
