Heart Threads
On this quiet cool holy morning of green here in Lloyd, I am thinking most lovingly of Denise on the west coast, who, yesterday afternoon midwifed her love into safe passage through that portal of light and darkness from which we come when we are born and through which we return when we die.
I am hoping that she is being as tender and gentle with herself as we would be with her, as that man who loved her was.
I am thinking of Elizabeth, also on the west coast, getting ready to speak at a conference on her experiences with CBD which she has been using to treat her daughter Sophie's seizures.
I am thinking about how this strange little world of magical (to me) communication has brought these people to my life and I to theirs. A plane drones overhead, Elvis crows, squirrels chatter, birds sing. My husband is on his way down to Orlando to possibly buy a vehicle to take to Dog Island to transport us from dock to house with all of our stuff. This day lies before me with nothing that must be done, this sweet gentle day and I think of how we are all connected, wherever in this world we are, whether we know each other or not, and connected as well to all of those who have been here before us and who have gone on and those who are not here yet but surely, one day will be.
Each of us with heart-stories, with true lives, with stardust in our bones with seawater in our veins.
Peace.
It is amazing isn't it? I found you from Andrea, because of caring for my Mom and desperately searching the internet for answers to caregiving. I found Denise and Elizabeth and a few other through you. Gail
ReplyDeleteMy daily blog reading is as normal to me as brushing my teeth. I do it every day, multiple times a day.
ReplyDeleteI just set an alarm on my phone to make sure I watch Elizabeth in an hour and a half. I am so glad we can all connect.
I sat in front of my computer and cried for Denise when I understood Dan was gone. Then, just now I rooted for Elizabeth as I grasped more fully what she is up against. The threads are indeed made of magic and love. Thank you for this tender post.
ReplyDeleteI'm just going to sit here and cry on my big white bed.
ReplyDeleteNothing good to add but my love from Appalachia.
ReplyDeleteHeart stories abound. Everywhere.
ReplyDeleteGail- Well, you certainly didn't learn anything from me about caregiving but I sure am glad you found me. Don't we have a wonderful community?
ReplyDeleteJill- Me too!
Angella- I know. I want to do something for Denise but what? Any ideas?
Elizabeth- Okay! I'm so glad you have that big white bed.
Ms. Vesuvius- And that is all we all need.
Syd- Yes sir.
