Dear sweet Mama, Vergil and i are now in the absolutely gorgeous country of Buhtan! We got here yesterday morning after getting to the New Delhi airport at 0300 in the morning. So most of the time we've been here I feel as if I am walking around in a dream state due to the lack of sleep, changing of so many countries and also because this wedding is already been so jam packed full of events. Today, a small group of us (7 out of about 300 people going to this wedding) took a trek up to the famous Tiger's Nest temple on the side of this huge mountain. Man, it beat me up. I had many moments of feeling like I was going to pass out due to lack of oxygen and my muscles giving up on me. But it was totally worth it. We got some good photos I think, so I can't wait to share them. We are in the hotel right now and have to get ready for another fancy ass Indian dinner and then a dance party. Phew. I'm just ready for bed. Oh well- guess I will have to have the time of my life instead. Love you soooo much!! Jessie
How great is that? She looks so much like you in that picture, Mary !
ReplyDeleteWow!
ReplyDeleteThat is the best letter! Thank you -Love reading adventure from the comfort and oxygen of my own little world. Your daughter is lovely indeed- glad she got up the mountain side without lung collapse, or whatever that is that occurs when oxygen is skimpy. Wonderful post.
ReplyDeleteOh Mary, your beautiful girl.
ReplyDeleteJesse is so gorgeous. I love her attitude! Having the time of her life instead... I will remember that. Thank you for sharing this. Swwet Jo
ReplyDeleteI am loving it all this morning. And you.
ReplyDeleteOh, how wonderful to hear from Jessie in Bhutaan. They're going to a wedding? Whose wedding?
ReplyDeleteIt sure sounds like they are making the most of this honeymoon ~ I'm glad they're having so much fun and all these adventures. I bet their bed is going to feel mighty good when they get back home, though!
They sent me a postcard of an awesome panting, which I found online and put on I've Had Dreams Like That.
ReplyDeleteSounds like she's starting off her grand adventure with a grand adventure!
ReplyDeleteAkannie- Well, maybe when I was young and beautiful. But thank you, darling.
ReplyDeleteElizabeth- I know! Jesus! Bhutan! Tiger Nest Temple! I swear, if I hadn't had her at home I'be wondering if she were my child.
Linda Sue- You know, I grew up with a Linda Sue. I do not think you are her but I'm glad you're here. I, too, am also glad that Jessie didn't collapse on the mountain. I can't wait for the pictures. Come back any time.
Angella- I know. How did this happen? With any of my kids, really? How?
Sweet Jo- I swear to you- I am going to embroider that on a pillow. What a beautiful philosophy.
Radish King- And loving you, too, as always.
Lulumarie- It is the wedding of an old roommate of Vergil's. And I wrote Jessie that she is going to need a vacation after this honeymoon. Thank goodness they are young.
Mr. Downtown- And it was awesome.
heartinhand- I know! Dang.

OMG. She looks so much like you in that picture. Her mannerisms, everything. I had to enlarge it because I was confused--I actually thought it WAS you. Ah lah. As my mom always says when I make similar comments about my younger sister, "Uhh, hello? I birthed her so just maybe she might kind of have a little of me in her!" Glad she's having fun!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a good trip. Lots of bed time is what honeymoons are for. Just sayin'
